New 'pings' stoke optimism for Malaysia plane hunt

I hope they find it and retrieved the black box and voice recorder.

The voice recorder is probably not much use as it records only 2 hours so it will not have a record of when the plane went off course. The black box data recorder will have a record of that though.

There is already one benefit from these pings – all the crank conspiracy theorist have gone silent.

If the plane went off course within an hour of take off then it would be beneficial to have the voice recorder data right? We’d have an hour of conversation that could tell us exactly what happened. When you write about theories based upon limited data I take that to mean you don’t believe the crackpot story that someone turned off the planes’ transponder then flew for seven hours out over the Indian Ocean then fell out of the sky without so much as a seat cushion, luggage case or shoe? That kind of conspiracy or the one where the plane actually landed in Diego-Garcia joint Us/Raf airbase which is actually closer to the “search field” then Perth. Why didn’t the Aussie gov’t send a drone out immediately after the plane disappeared and hover until ships could be on scene? I guess all that talk about patent holders for Freescale Semiconductor Co. being on the plane who lost their right to redemption because the patent wasn’t granted until a few days after they went missing and Rothchild family getting 100% of the royalties is like that eh? Yeah, I see your point no one would take a plane load of people and do bad things just for a few hundred million dollars, you’re right that’s crazy talk… Thx for clearing that up boss.

How about this 1 taking in to account this experts analysts’ theory when serious discussions on this tragedy Began—that “Between the 2 pilots’ seats there was a pre-programmable computer to Chart a flight path ” AND it was programmed During plane’s highest altitude ( where eventually all deaths occurred ) so as to fly with suitable turns & height evading possible ( any & every ) radar sightings, & when very little fuel remains Then to Nose Dive around the deepest part of the ocean? Any One?

The crackpot conspiracy theories will never completely go away; because there will always be gaps in what we know to be factual. Even if they find the black boxes, much mystery will remain.

Here’s my “theory”:

According to reports, the senior pilot of the doomed airliner had attended the witch-hunt-type trial of a leading anti-government protester on the day of the flight.

Then, according to reports, this same pilot took a cellphone call while in the “sterile cockpit mode”, just prior to take-off, which is verboten. Who was the caller and what was the message?

There is a very good chance that this tragedy was a case of politically-motivated pilot suicide; if the pilot’s motivation was to embarrass the Malaysian government, he has succeeded.

When flying in an airliner, with two Muslim men at the controls, you are flying in a faith-based mode. Buy extra flight insurance. Good Luck.

I can’t figure out why it took so long to get the Navy’s towed array out there to search for the pinger.
They lost so much time guessing, looking for junk in the ocean, now the battery’s about to die so maybe it’ll never be found.
Probably we’ll never know why either even if they find the wreckage.
Pilot suicide has been brought up a lot, but why’d he fly so long before ditching … maybe working up the “courage” to kill himself & a load full of passengers ??
And if pilot suicide why take out 200+ innocent people with you ??

With 5 hits, it should be simple to triangulate the position of the source to a relatively small area. If this results in two or more locations, either the plane disintegrated in the air separating the black boxes, or some or all of the pings are erroneous. It is confusing as to why the search area remains so large.

I read about a commercial accident report years ago in the U.S.A that said, the NTSB could lift recordings off the Voice Recorder that were down six levels below the current recording. At that time, the current Voice Recorders were only recording a 30 minute continuous loop. SO, the technology is there to lift the conversations that were written over many times. NOW, the quality of the conversation might be very poor because of all the times it was written over but like the accident I quoted above, they can possibly determine what actions occurred in the cockpit. Not all is lost when it comes to the Voice Recorder revealing how, what and when.

Why not, when claiming to know approximately where the “ping” is coming from, use whatever satellite capability Google Earth uses, but with much higher resolution, to search the sea bed? If it crashed because it ran out of fuel, then the plane might actually be in one piece, sans wings, perhaps? That plane was almost as large as my house lot and I can see it clearly in detail. If they can hear it they can’t calculate how far they are likely to be from it? They are also days beyond the time these articles said the ping would go silent.

BTW – If a small plane crashed into a house – the only part likely to pass through the structure is the engine. The rest would crumple on the roof.

I know they aren’t using visible light on Google Earth to show the ocean floor but something like microwaves or some other light frequency (I’m not a physicist) to capture the geography. At least they would know exactly where the plane is. It may have dived in head first like a bullet but stayed intact? It is designed to hold air pressure. Couldn’t it have dived in nose first and then bobbed around a while as it slowly flooded and sank but still holding most of its contents? The air could escape through some broken windows – small size window – and through the gaps left by the former wings that could have been torn off when the plane penetrated the water. It might have taken a few minutes but it isn’t made of steel or iron like the Titanic and could have taken a while to sink. That may have kept most of its contents contained? Any cloth that escaped would sink quickly as it became waterlogged and denser objects would just sink. All the other luggage and personal belongings would be locked under the floor or overhead?

Hijacking for ransom isn’t that far fetched. The Somali’s make a living at it. The developed countries have been learning (at least about) all sorts of nasty old-timer’s habits in the Middle East for the past 20 years. Kidnapping civilians for ransom may be one of those nasty old techniques learned. In the new warfare, civilians get the worst of it and they are the least able to defend against it. Kidnapping for ransom is a very popular technique among the “Freedom fighters” in Syria, as I saw last night on some You Tube videos. The commercial and political rivalries on this planet could be turning into something that would give the first, and even the second Godfather sleepless nights? As big business gets even bigger and becomes impatient with the controls of civilian states, they may be very inclined to take matters into their own hands? The world isn’t blossoming with sanity and extreme wealth or poverty can test the limits of the acceptable, to say the least. It’s possible that what is happening is being kept quite so that even the rescue people don’t know the true story?

Conspiracy theories live today so easily, perhaps, because of wartime organizations like the Manhattan project that employed thousands, was kept under deep secrecy and even the pilot who flew the Enola Gay didn’t know what he was carrying.

In the new world disorder, the middle values and definitions are getting the crap kicked out of them, if not being beheaded.

“Crackpot” ideas may only be crackpot if your pot isn’t quite large enough to handle to load or they are becoming too explosive?

BTW – Where are people getting the idea the plane climbed to a higher altitude? I thought past articles (here anyway) only said it cruised at 35,000 feet and then dropped by about 10,000 feet?

People are losing interest? This isn’t a TV show… It’s about 200+ people dying. Gee, sorry everybody couldn’t do more to keep you entertained. Maybe if you’re lucky a giant earthquake will kill a bunch of people or something, and then you’ll have something to watch. Idiot.

2 sides have shown extremely high interest in finding the so called black box China and USA, why?

Occams Razor, actually. If you have to start inventing imaginary actors or imaginary events, it is a crackpot theory.

Because the USA built the plane and the Chinese were the majority of the passengers.
