China is the aggressor and everyone knows it, except evidently the Chinese foreign ministry. The only solution is a reinvigorated military alliance to contain Chinese imperialism and bullying.

Can Secretary Kerry tell the world that when the USA will ratify the UNCLOS? China did it.

Before the incident China gave fair warning that they were moving the rig and for all vessels to stay clear. It seems to me Vietnam sent boats out to intentionally stir up trouble.

China is not even adhering to it. They are currently refusing to recognize a case brought before the Tribunal.

China’s word means nothing. This is becoming a rogue state.

@hahahappy: Ha! You mean China gave fair warning that they are just going to put the oil rig into Vietnam’s Exclusive Economic Zone, like your neighbor just said to you hey, I’m going to use your yard as my yard from now on, and that’s a fair warning. You should have to let him do it? Study more before commenting please.

Free_Pacific, if you read the ratification of UNCLOS by China, you’d understand why. Maybe China should withdraw from the UNCLOS like the US.

China will not back down in their own back yard. They consider Kerry a ‘toothless’ clown, and obama a pacifist with no stomach for confrontation – so they will disregard anything we say.

The ASEAN nations of south Asia know that they are on their own; no matter what obama says to them, we will not be there for them in time of need.
North Korea already sees this, and will get increasingly beligerant posing a direct nuclear threat to SK – NK has nothing to fear from obama and China will continue to support NK as a pressure point on Japan and SK.
Both those nations, knowing the US led by obama will not stand by them, will militarize – they have no choice.
SK has to know this can only end one way; China will not ‘allow’ a strong economic and democratic competitor on their doorstep – they will move to marginalize them.

All of this is due to obama’s clear signals that the US will withdraw from its current geo-political role. Russia in east Europe; China in Asia, and Iran in the Middle East – all will rush to fill the void.. We are just seeing the beginning..

Why US is quiet when the Philippines ram a ship and stationed some soldiers on one of the island? Why US have double standard and yet not
