bachmaij they don’t feel any shame as they are what Butch_from_PA said. They definitely have demented views of what’s fair. Nukes in their hands, scary.

Farzana Iqbal was waiting for the High Court in the eastern city of Lahore to open when a group of around dozen men began attacking her with bricks, said Umer Cheema, a senior police officer.

Her father, two brothers and former fiance were among the attackers, he said. Iqbal suffered severe head injuries and was pronounced dead in hospital, police said.

All the suspects except her father escaped. He admitted killing his daughter, Cheema said, and explained it was a matter of honor. Many Pakistani families think a woman marrying her own choice of man brings dishonor on the family.

Murder is honourable??? These animals are pathetic! The girl’s father attacking her with bricks?? My revulsion for these things is beyond words – not the ones I can put on here anyway! I think unter-mensch comes close! They and their medieval cult of islam are disgusting!

A hundred years ago here people made sure their “family honor” was preserved. They would put a lot of pressure on people picking the right spouse. That may be coming back here too? A two tiered society means the kids of the wealthy are going to be very careful who they take into the family business and the wealthy always tend to do that anyway.

They don’t live in the stone age. We live far too close to the society of Huxley’s “Brave New World”.

But as I write that – where’s my Soma. I need a hit right now.

yes Pakistan and many Muslim countries are suffering from social ills for various reasons and it is disgusting to see such actions taking place time after time and the system unable to prevent it.

It is equally disgusting to see one track (paid cronies) posting racial statements, promoting hate and intolerance. There are good and bad people forces everywhere – more in some places than other but in the end the good people are suffering due to the injustices that exists in societies and because of closed minded clowns that are posting comments like above that flare hatred towards all indiscriminately.

Ladies & Gentlemen, Reuters yanked one of my posts for no good reason.

I had expressed my views regarding the unsuitability of devout Muslims immigrating to the USA and I expressed a view about the wisdom of keeping tabs on those already here. I obeyed the terms of service, but the post was deleted, after being up for several hours.

I have come to expect that sort of “content based” censorship in the US media, but it appears that Reuters also deletes expressions of unpopular truths… very disappointing.

One hundred years ago in this country, because it was Christian primarily, women were not killed but if they divorced or married outside family approval their lives were made miserable, especially among the upper class.

This two tired society of the obscenely well heeled and the majority of wage slaves will probably see a resurgence of “careful” marriages. There are even Christian sects here that would do just about what that that Pakistani father did short of murder.

It doesn’t make it right, that the Bible’s Old Testament contains similar attitudes as Islam or even Orthodox Judaism. It makes it old time religion and it was frequently brutal, selfish, extremely class conscious to avoid too much social embarrassment (that the wrong thing might be said about the situation, ir the wrong thing done with the money especially hat the arrangement might not make even more of it) self conscious to the point of neurosis and very concerned with bloodlines, racism and the family’s bottom line and its hypocritically toned down sense of “honor’, to meld better with Christian values.

Nothing this country can do will defeat that attitude and it will very likely join it (short of murder). It will just keep its social outcasts on bread and water for the rest of their lives.

BTW – wall-to-wall surveillance and dossiers on all and sundry readily compiled from social networking sites, are just what the Aunt Pitty Pats and other social dragons would have loved in the good old, bad old days. But you have to be a practiced hypocrite and cherry pick the “good books” the way you cherry pick everything else in life, or it just doesn’t work. Most Aunt Pitty Pats are quite such charming idiots but like a well-stuffed wallet better than they love anything else. .

Social life is dominated by cowards.

Didn’t the European settlers in the U.S. right up to the end of the 1800s (under General Sherman) murder the American Indians just to steal their land? America (with its historic European population) is clearly more liberal towards women, but wouldn’t you think that Americans would be capable of being more introspective and see the immorality in their own past behavior?
