So it wasn’t about corruption. And it wasn’t about that blanket amnesty (also covering Suthep himself). Thaksin was a target of opportunity only.
It simply was about the proposal to change the senate with currently 74 nominated (and NOT elected) officials of 150 seats to a FULLY elected body. That would break the remaining hold on power of those “democrats” through nominated officials in the Senate, Constitutional court, Election commisSion and Army.
