I’ve no issues with this. We are probably going to hit these 5 with a drone strike once they leave Qatar anyway.

Why of course they do. Obama could find a cure for cancer and it would be questionable.

Although I am extremely happy to hear our American soldier is home at last, this action will surely embolden our enemies (worldwide) to capture and hold hostage other Americans (military or not). We have rarely, if ever, negotiated with terrorists before. May God help us now.

They should have traded Ted Cruz for the prisoner. And maybe sent McCain to feed him his pablum.

They should have traded Ted Cruz to the Taliban for Bergdahl. And sent McCain along to feed him his pablum and make sure he doesn’t wander off.

“Republicans question U.S. prisoner swap with Taliban.” Totally unnecessary. The 5 will be fitted with GPS beacons and satellite transponders, so that we know everything they get in touch.

If NSA has every US citizen covered, don’t you think it’s a crime to spare these 5?

So up till now our enemies didn’t try and kidnap Americans?

@ presydent this was a POW swap, we do NOT leave our soldiers behind when we pull out at the end of a war, we have done POW swaps in every single war we have been in since the end of the Revolutionary war at our founding until now. As far as consequences, what kind of message would it send to our military folks if any president didn’t bring home POWs at the end of a war? This is not a political issue, it is a moral issue, we do not leave our soldiers behind ever.

If all the info coming out now turns out to be true, looks like he should have just been left over there. Funny… He was apparently “disillusioned” with the Army and America, as is his Muslim dad… according to comments he has made as well. Yet, they both expect the US to bring his son back, and they both want to live here. Typical hypocrisy from the muslim crowd.

The war is coming to an end?? This war will never be over, it will never be won. Do you think the Muslim extremists are going to simply change their mind now that Obama has told them when we are pulling out?

“Hey guys, we won’t be here anymore and to make it easier on you, here’s the top 5 guys that would help put your network back together.”

The only way this makes sense is if they planted a tracking device within their bodies without their knowledge. With all of the technology out there it wouldn’t seem to be a stretch. Even if they didn’t they could suggest they did and their fellow terrorists will take them out for us.

How is this a coup for Obama at all? We don’t negotiate with terrorists….period. On top of that no one is talking about the fact that this guy walked off his base willingly after he had sent all his personal belongings back home. You hear that? He was “kidnapped” willingly. Go check out the tweet that his dad has been putting out. Fanatical Muslim stuff.
