all its going to take are a couple of slasher/murders by someone who got into the wrong car and the whole business model begins to crack. Id think twice before getting into the car of a stranger over the internet.

Does anyone really believe that with Goldman-Sachs and Google in charge this is about “the customer” and choice? It is only about money and they will give deals now to get the business but you might as well bend over right now because they’ll get theirs in the end unless they are forced to adhere to regulations.

agent, I got into a licensed taxi in Vegas. They guy driving was pretty obviously hallucinating, and I don’t think he even realized he was muttering to himself the whole ride. If psychos driving taxis were going to crack the business model, it should already be cracked. Uber has a rating system which should actually improve the whole ‘psycho at the wheel’ problem.

Ah, the spinning jenny. An entrenched, status quo industry is very suddenly rendered prehistoric by a single innovation, and they are outraged.

If taxis didn’t suck we wouldn’t need Uber. Making people mad is not going to help the cabbies.
