To argue in favor of a “Jewish State” is to implicitly support the creation of an Islamic State, a Hindu state, an Atheist state, an Evangelist state, a Protestant state, a Catholic state, a Voodoo state … all untenable and unviable in our modern world.

Instead consider the US Indian Citizenship Act of 1924 which decrees: “All non-citizen indigenous peoples born within the territorial limits of the United States be, and are hereby declared to be citizens of the United States”. Consider similar acts in Canada, Mexico, Peru, Bolivia, Ecuador, Chile, Colombia, Argentina, Paraguay, Costa Rica, Venezuela, South Africa, etc, etc, etc. 1 man 1 vote – The only viable solution and ironically the one which is most vehemently opposed by Likudists.

Given that even the “moderate” Palestinians continue to preach and teach Israel’s destruction, and teach and preach that Jews are evil and Israel has no right to exist, and are only willing to accept any settlement with Israel if they can continue the fight to “return” to flood Israel with Arabs, Israel’s quite within its right to settle this “disputed” land. There never was a “Palestine” governed by Arabs, and the land is disputed, not occupied. The Palestinians ahve only themselves to blame for rejecting true compromise and the prospect of peaceful coexistence. Gaza (not to mention the chaos in Syria and Iraq and elsewhere in the Mideast) shows what happens if Israel turns over the land to the Arab.

Israelis across the spectrum have recognize that the “two state solution” is dead. Dead. Not a chance it can work. Gaza has proven that. The inability of Arab states to form peaceful governments proves it too. The chances that a “Palestine” would be peaceful, democratic and liberal, are absolutely zero. So why would Israel continue to try to create a country whose sole purpose will be to attack and try to destroy Israel? Unfortunately, to avoid national suicide, the Israelis have to continue to govern the entire West Bank. It’s the Arabs’ own fault for not accepting what’s been ofered to them many times. The Gaza experience shows that Israel can’t risk offering it any more. There’s no possible partner for peace on the other side. See www.palwatch.org for what the Palestinian media actually say in Arabic, and the hate they teach their children.

It’s very sad but it’s not Israel’s fault.

Yea, it’s not like the Palestinians continue to have no interest in living in peace with an Israeli state…it’s very simple. If we want to end the fighting, destroy Hamas and their partner groups, occupy Gaza and their other territories, and remove their areas of operation. That or you can just hand over the entirety of Israel to the Palestinians. “If you want peace, prepare for war.”

An American official “rebuke” is tantamount to saying “Go ahead Israel. We support your actions.” Unfortunately, such land grabs play into the hands of Islamic State extremist recruitment, especially in Jordan with its majority Palestinian population, and whose military may defect to the Muslim cause in the event of a widespread popular revolt to overthrown Jordan’s pro-western King, thereby creating a new military front for the already stretched Israeli military which was pushed to the limit in the latest round of fighting in Gaza.

During the last attempt for a Palestinian state, Netanyahu demanded incentives to freeze settlement construction on Palestinian land with the exception of East Jerusalem, fighter jets worth $3 billion and the U.S. to block any moves in the United Nations Security Council that would try to shape a final peace agreement.
President Kennedy was tragically assassinated (by Israel?) while he was attempting to prevent Israel from converting its civilian nuclear power program into a weapons program with inducements. Israel took the inducements, Hawk missiles, but continued with its nuclear weapons program.
