my 1st question is does the track crossing have the arms to come down when a train is approaching? 2nd was the train blowing it’s horn like required? 3rd why wasn’t the truck drivers paying more attention to the crossing? 4th no one noticed a train coming before the trucks started to cross the tracks? As a side note, this was an event for the vets and one of the events they had planned is a hunt. We have wounded vets,so lets go out and shoot something.

Per other news reports, the gates were working and the engineer blew the train horn. From reports, it seems like the parade slowed down, leaving the truck over the tracks that he had already begun to cross. It definitely sounds like a lapse in judgment on the truck driver’s part. However, it also seems odd to me that they would schedule a parade to cross train tracks or not notify Union Pacific that there’d be a parade. Either of these options would have prevented this.
