If there is a place lower than “rock bottom” Zucker will surely take CNN straight to it.

How do you justify these two statements: “Ratings are not the only thing that we’re concerned about here…what is the most important thing in our business is to be essential every day to someone.” and “Whether Jeff Zucker was the greatest head of the NBC Entertainment businesses or not was irrelevant to my search”, with this statement: “…Time Warner’s chief executive, said in August he was unsatisfied with the network’s low ratings and would seek to turn it around with more compelling programming that would remain non-partisan.”

Either you’re concerned about your ratings or you’re not. As far as Kent’s comment about the only thing mattering is being “essential” to someone everyday; get ready Mr Kent, you’re about to get your wish. With Zucker running the show, you soon will be essential to someONE; Jeff Zucker!

What Zucker did to NBC was a travesty; filling the network with lowest-common-denominator fare that he admitted followed the “Throw it at the wall and see what sticks” philosophy. Mark my words: CNN will become ATAT – All Today All the Time; it’s the only thing Zucker knows how to do with any semblence of competency.

On a side note, what the Hell is Brad Adgate smoking? “I compare (Zucker’s hiring) with Yahoo putting Marissa Mayer in charge…”
Really? Marissa Mayer, who ran (and grew) Google’s most successful and profitable group, versus Jeff Zucker, who took one of the most successful and decorated American TV networks, and saw its shows beaten by the CW in the ratings? My respect for Mr Adgate as left the bulding.

Are you kidding me? CNN is a Liberal leaning station with all the rest of them.

How can anyone say (with a straight face) “Zucker was heavily involved in the decision to move some of MSNBC’s programming to the political left to counter Fox News Channel’s perceived rightward slant, the source told Reuters, though that did not imply he would move CNN programs in a more partisan direction”

Look how partisan the Today Show still is… That was Zuckers direction then and will be his direction going forward. CNN is already partisan so half his job is already done.
