I somewhat take exception to your comment – “* Members of Congress, who are not exempt from the spending cuts, will be advised to begin preparing their staffs for either salary cuts or layoffs if they have to shave funds from their approximately $4 billion in annual appropriations.” The members of Congress ARE exempt from having to take a salary cut or be furloughed. It is only their massive staff exployees who will possibly feel the brunt. How about Congress prepares themselves? No, never going to happen.

It won’t fall apart…period. Any business faced with budget cuts would do everything in its power NOT to disrupt service to its customers. Instead, our government is publicly talking about cutting vital and disruptive positions for no other reason than holding us all hostage. Just goes to show that our government no longer serves the people. We’re just shills (and a pocketbook) for an entity that only serves itself. Have any of these so-called leaders EVER had a business with customers before? The hubris is enough to make me sick.
