The new yahoo homepage layout and feature suck and not in a good way…too much of the same information in multiple areas..if I am looking in technology why do I see more article dealing with finance? If I looking at sports why do I see articles that have nothing to with sports (IE.. the current Oscar Pitorius(sp) story..that is not sports..that is crime)…why when I am reading an article over in the similar articles area is there a link the exact article that I am reading? The layout is not conducive at all or linear in any form..give me the old layout back

It’s awful. It’s like a newspaper where all we get is what we “want.” The point of information, the PURPOSE of information is to be discovered. I think I just switched to Google as my primary home page. I ONLY use Yahoo as an “online newspaper.” I don’t even use the Yahoo search bar. It’s purely there for information. If that information suddenly is “tailored” and “personalized” to match what some computer thinks are my actual tastes and interests, then I can tell you I’m going to have a lousy Yahoo experience.

Saying that you want to do any sort of business modeled after Facebook is no sign of improvement at all. It basically says that you don’t care about personal data at all and will only react to customers when they go into a vast uproar because your policies are so horrendous. That, and the home page looks terrible. Since when is having less customization an improvement? Long, unfiltered news histories and a touch of purple is no upgrade in any sense of the word.
