We absolutely need to protect our American food supply and Banning Horse Slaughter and exporting horses will protect our USDA Meat from what happened to Europe.

So we can’t slow the inspections of dog kennels, but can slow meat production to feed people. We can slow the flow of FOOD to people, but not skip a single inspection of breeder kennels with no history of issues? Really? The USDA regulates a lot of things, but priorities are telling.

The Obama administration says meat packers and processors would lose $10 billion in production if there was a 2-week shutdown of inspections. Meat plants are not allowed to operate without USDA inspection. There could be spotty meat shortages from a slower production system in the summer and early fall.

This is the sort of leadership that should be giving all Americans pause-intentionally targeting an industry in fullly aware that doing so will bring it to its knees-while hurting all Americans who happen to eat meat or meat by-products. Can you imagine the impact to the cost of feeding your family by August? Let alone the cost fast food, school lunches, etc.

Interesting that the President and USDA’s Tom Vilsack are so willing to shut down meat production plants, but no mention of shutting down inspections by USDA of animal breeding facllities that do no produce food.
