Have one ID for all music, movie, and app purchases. Where you want separation, say for email and messaging and calendar, use a different ID that is personal. Apple lets you mix and match ID to your hearts content and this is much easier than all the ‘workarounds’ above.

One for ID for content that is shared. Personal ID for the personal stuff. Done.
