There is know way of knowing all of the possible consequences of lithium-ion battery failures even if they are housed in a Titanium box. Why would anyone in their right mind agree to fly on a 787 with such a ridiculous fix when there are alternative aircraft that will get them to their destination without being stressed out by the potential of an on board fire. On the other hand the Airbus decision is completely sound and logical.
