UPDATE 4-Airbus drops lithium-ion batteries for A350
So Boeing are saying, with this proposed fix, a contained fire on a 787 may occur but that is acceptable? There is know way of knowing all of the possible consequences of lithium-ion battery failures even if they are housed in a Titanium box. Why would anyone in their right mind agree to fly on a 787 with such a ridiculous fix when there are alternative aircraft that will get them to their destination without being stressed out by the potential of an on board fire. On the other hand the Airbus decision is completely sound and logical.
