Explorers to retrace Shackleton's epic Antarctic journey
Great story. I have walked part of the South Georgia Shackleton trail. It is hard work, and the ocean between SG and Elephant Island is one of the roughest. Great photo too, one of Shackleton’s huts, however it is one that had nothing to do with that particular expedition and is geographically nearly the opposite side of Antarctica from SG. Good luck fellas!
Good luck to Tim Jarvis and the team.however this will not be the First Ever recreation of this epic journey to have been undertaken. In the interests of accuracy and fact please correct. And Shackleton was not British..he was born in Kilkea,County Kildare Ireland.Indeed of the six man crew that undertook the epic journey in 1914 only one was English.Three Irishmen,Sahckleton,Tom Crean and Timmy McCarthy plus one New Zealander Frank Worsley, one Scot Harry McNeish and one Englishman John Vincent.
