By the time it is over, it will have added 1T to the deficit/debt.

Only reason the banks paid back the TARP money early is because Geitner made a deal with them that the banks would be able to basically write the new regulations the dems are talking about. US conservatism has screwed the US for the past 30 years. Normal people are anti-labor, anti-government, and anti-regulation. These are all things that could help them, but instead they vote for idiot Republicans that hate government, and prove it by making it completely incompetent.

I’m so glad I live in Europe. In all the rich European countries, people here gets more vacation time, access to health care that’s better and cheaper than what most Americans get. All I can see is an expanding government. This expansion increases our burden without benefit. To save our economy we should cut all government budgets, except for defense, by 15%.

Stimulus saved us from depression? Wasn’t that TARPs so called job? Stimulus was to keep unemployment from going above 8%, oops that didn’t work out so well.

Stimulus all it did was bail out some state budgets. 2/3rd of it unspent and is Obama’s slush fund to buy off votes.

To begin with, the deficit ballooned under Bush administration; and for the financial crisis, it developed over the years, from the Reagan through Bush administration, including Clinton, who were all partially responsible for the 2008 debacle. If Bush hadn’t had to leave the office, he would have(as a matter of fact, the $700 billion or so stimulus was something Bush administration initiated) done pretty much the same thing. Let’s say Bush had stayed on, would these whiners whine this much? I am pretty sure the answer is No.

To be fair, the $787 billion stimulus did save us from a worse scenario. Of course, you may always say that Obama can’t prove the stimulus’s effectiveness. Of course he can’t, since what you are asking for is a reality where the whole country is in a tailspin. But should the worst be the reality, God forbid, the whiners would still attribute that to the sitting president, since he is a democrat.

And that’s pure politics.

If the stimulus was intended to restore growth to the economy it would have been spent during 2009 and revived demand and employment. Instead it was spread over several years and focused entirely on growing government. This stimulus had nothing to do with restoring the economy and everything to do with advancing socialism in the US – and the results demonstrate it.

If that’s the case… explain how. Why is it that this administrations figures and statistics are continually proven to be either exaggerated or just outright fabricated? If the bill did such a good job of creating jobs, explain in detail how this is a cost-effective means of job creation… and if we truly do get $1.10 back from every $1.00 the government spends of our money, why don’t we just give them all of it?
