BP is a money grubbing corporation. We can’t expect anything else from them other than trying to maximize profits at all costs. It’s our government that has let us down. Lack of regulation and the cozy relationship with the oil industry and their money has lead us to this moment. Now that the White House is being deluged with emails urging him to show something, he’s coming out acting tough. Too little too late, my man. You have lost our trust and will need to earn it back. Pass comprehensive campaign reform. We vote for them and then they listen to the lobbyists and not us. Stop playing politics and start leading. Or else the Republicans will be back in power with their insane “we don’t need government” bull crap.

Why spend this much time coming up with solutions to produce the well? If the cement job is holding and the 9-5/8″ seal assembly is/was working..why not disconnect the BOP at the wellhead connector…raise the stack…cut the drill pipe fish with shears they used on the riser…and skid a new stack in place (with blind rams in each cavity)…reconnect to the wellhead and close the rams.

After watching Obama’s interview with Today Show’s Matt Lauer this morning I already feel better. Obama said “the environment was resilient and would be back to normal in a season, or maybe two”. Doesn’t that give everyone a warm fuzzy about the worst environmental accident in US history?

Consumers should boycott any gas station or oil product that can be traced to BP as a source.

The government should send the head BP employees to prison for being asleep at the wheel when the mistakes made that eventually caused this costly, destructive, deadly disaster to take place.

Heads should be rolling at BP (firing) and anyone who carries any blame for the cause of this disaster should be turned over to the government for prosecution.

“Why spend this much time coming up with solutions to produce the well?”

Solutions are ranked according to risk. The very least risky one is to use the cut off riser to get a perfect seal and the well can either be produced or plugged according to the order of Admiral Allen.

The next risky back up… that I have to give BP credit for being practical… is to remove the very top of the present BOP and bolt another functioning BOP with a new riser on top of that. That would work but is more risky that just using something simple to stop the leak from the cut off riser. If they did that they would have to use my “three pronged devil fork” shown in my crude drawing

to vent with while setting it down… so the robots can see clearly to connect it.

Removing the present BOP hopefully is not an option tried, as and that would be much more difficult to connect another BOP to the well head… considering that the present BOP holds pressure perfectly. The risk would just be extreme.

Maybe some Photoshop artist could take my crude diagram

http://i1000.photobucket.com/albums/af122/alkanalkan/A-Solution.jpg?t=1275769802

and substitute photographs of real available oilfield equipment connected in the same manner with pipe, real full opening orbit valves, bell nipples, and Photoshop manipulated Pipe tongs with side bolts and nuts… including transparent x-ray view of the bell nipple’s soft metal liner. It could add welded funnels to the bottom clamp side holes to allow the bolts when lowered have to fit the holes.

This would make a near photographic view of my solution. Sometimes a near realistic view can be helpful.

Obama is screwed up again. Instead of grandstanding and talking about kicking asses he should be working to solve the problem(s). What this statement shows is that he is more concerned with his standing in the polls than with the people whose lives are effected by this spill.

We live near the leading edge of the spill in Florida. I can tell you that we are not supplied or staffed anywhere near properly to halt this from going any further.

I believe that the best we can do is stop blindly believing BP’s BS as this company doesn’t care about us at all. (It’s not even acknowledging the vast quantities of underwater oil).

We are somehow holding out a glimmer of hope that it is still possible to save some of the Florida coastline but only if the government allows somebody look at it who has a real interest in stopping this.

PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE Let’s swallow our pride and call for international assistance. Anyone at all who can stop this–Russia, Iran? We don’t care.

Fire BP and get every expert, other oil company workers, don’t care who it is–just anybody before we have to do a postmortem on our coast and wildlife.

BP & Obama are more interested in saving the well and collecting profits from oil than saving the livelihood a bunch of rednecks and the wildlife. They could have easily imploded the wellhead with explosives shorty after the rigg exploded. This is a charade by BP & Obama to divert attention and keep the oil flowing. So long rednecks and pity the wildlife. Keep drillin’ baby.

We should have congress pass a 100 million dollar bill for coastal states to quickly resolve oil damage cases brought against BP. They owe us a trillion dollars in damages and this American won’t wait 20 years like the Exxon case dragged on only to have conservatives on SCOTUS reduce the damages.

The whole problem with BP has been that Obama has allowed them to do what they want, when they want it, and whether they will do it at all.
Obama has the power to bark out orders, and he ought to, to really kick butt.
He could order BP to stop the monkey business and install a new BOP. It was posted that the bad BOP can be removed and replaced. Then, you close the values and shut the leak.
Why is it that we don’t get the experts on TV to tell us and Obama what has to be done here, rather than let BP handle this mess, which has been screwed up from the get go.

Some basic math on the amount of barrels being leaked per day:

One barrel per second–86,400 barrels per day
2 seconds–46,200 per day
3 seconds–28,800 per day
4 seconds–21,600 per day
5 seconds–17,280 per day
6 seconds–14,400 per day.

Okay, since collection is around 15,000 per day, we know automatically it cannot be 6 seconds, since the well is still gushing out the containment cap.

It has to be faster than 6 seconds.

If it is 1/2 second for one barrel, then the daily rate is a staggering 172,800 barrels per day.

A simple experiment could be done with water being ejected from a similar diameter pipe, with the known ejection pressure in this case, since BP knows the pressure in this well before the blowout.

So, you can do an experiment and figure out the amount of water, per barrel, per second, with this pressure, and then, convert that amount into oil density or mass whatever is correct scientifically.

Why has this not been done by anybody, whether Obama, Biden, all the kings men, or BP, or other oil companies, or experts, or even the media?

Why is everyone sitting on their hands on figuring out the amount of oil gushing out??

A bunch of 10th graders could do this math and run an experiment if given the right tools and supplies, etc.

I bet the Arabs, Red Chinese and Russians are laughing like crazy seeing all of these Keystone Cops running this dog and pony show.

Just based on common sense, I will go with 2 seconds for one barrel, and that means, we are having at least 43,200 barrels per day.

I based that on the new CNN news videos showing HD videos of the gushing blowout after the riser was sawed off. These new HD videos really show a gigantic amount of oil being released, speeding out of control, like a rocket blast off.

We need to get some jail time going for some BP people lying to the govt and to us, interfering with official performance of duty of law enforcement. The Coast Guard are like cops, and they have been interfered with by BP, and hence, arrest the bunch of them that have mislead, filed false information and interfered with law enforcement, etc.

It’s embarrassing for our President to say he is “going to kick ass”. What he should be doing is investigating why MSS didn’t test the blowout valve as they were required to do, or to publish the results if they did (nothing has came out of them). It might pay to explain why his Chief of Staff, Rahm Emanuel, lived for a year, rent free, in an apartment paid for by BP. Lots of questions remain unanswered and will probably go unanswered as the US Media will definetly try to cover up this whole mess.
