If any country can survive this disaster, it is Japan. Awesome nation.

Brutus is dead on. After what they achieved in the Meiji restoration more than one hundred years ago and the more recent rebuilding after WWII, I think Japan as a nation is capable of surviving nearly anything and emerging even stronger.

I do hope the USA helps, though. Japan is just about the best friend the United States has.

Our sensationalist journalism is at it again. spreading fear but not a single solution. Japanese engineers are working to stop a potential meltdown. Whilst our media journalist are squawking “what if” hysteria fear, and the dumbed-down masses soak it up like a sponge. Tsunami has killed estimated 10000 people and possibly more will be found dead under the torrents of debris. That is the real tragedy, not a damaged nuclear plant that so far has killed not one person. Get real…. people. Japanese will not whine and beg for help, they will clear up this tragic mess with hard work and intelligent engineering. Unlike our shameful attempt to rebuild after Katrina. The Japanese came back after we dropped Nuclear bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki incenerating 200,000 civilians in those cities, men women and children
