Even Ohbummer knows that the Amecian people weren’t going to stand for a trial back in the U.S. where his pal Eric Holder would make sure Bin Laden had the best ACLU lawyers our tax dollars could buy. The reality that many in the West are unwilling to face is that a large number of muslims around the world believe that the only good non-believer is a dead non-believer. Sadly, it is going to take many more actions like the bin Laden raid and predator drone strikes to eliminate the leadership in all of the affiliated al Queda groups. There is no reasoning with those people, because they BELIEVE that their religion commands them to convert the world to Islam, and eliminate the non-believers. The sooner we recognize that fact, the sooner we will be adequately prepared for the long struggle that lies ahead.

And read what has happened in just two years of Obama’s administration:
Since taking office, the number of terrorist attacks on U.S. soil under Barack Obama = FIVE
1. June 2009 – Little Rock, Arkansas – Abdulhakim Mujahid Muhammad, an American Muslim opened fire on a U.S. military recruiting office. Private William Long was killed and Private Quinton Ezeagwula was wounded.
2. September 2009 – New York, New York – Attempt to detonate bombs in NYC subway system by member of al-Qaeda
3. November 2009 – Fort Hood, Texas – Nadal Malik Hassan conducts mass shooting at Fort Hood killing 13 and wounding 30 others.
4. December 2009 – Detroit, Michigan – Nigerian Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab attempts to detonate an explosive on an aircraft enroute from Amsterdam to Detroit.
5. May 2010 – New York City, New York – New York’s Times Square was evacuated after the discovery of a car bomb.

Then, these “heroes”, protected by Kevlar vests and countless other protections, sneak into an unguarded home, populated mainly by women and children, in the dead of night, using infrared goggles and other technological advances while the inhabitants are sleepy and blind, and massacre the unarmed men inside. They even shoot a petite woman who was incensed her home was being invaded by murderous soldiers in the dead of night (I know, most Americans would welcome a Chinese or

Although I have serious doubts that the “real” bin Laden (as opposed to the body double used for releasing fake vidoe and audio recrordings during the last 10 years) was in fact at the home, people who can look at the facts objectively would perhaps use the antonym of “heroic” ….

Obama took a huge risk here. He succeeded in fulfilling his campaign promise to take him out if the Pakistani’s didn’t. Dumping his body quietly at sea made sure this event was handled as quickly and quietly as possible. I am also very impressed with the transparency the Administration has had admitting (after, admittedly, some false starts) that Osama was unarmed. This and the downed helicopter are major missteps that have not been covered up.

As a progressive, I am not so dogmatic that I cannot proclaim this military action a success. I prefer no war and no death penalty. But I can think for myself and judge things based on circumstances. And even though I find the killing of Osama repugnant, I am also very, very proud of my President and ultimately agree that this was a successful mission. Gloating he is not.
