I am curious to know what prompted Simpson to blow the whistle. Is this the first trading impropriety he was aware of, or had he been aware of several similar, albeit lesser irregularities, in the past and said nothing? Was he prompted to speak up by a snub or dispute with a superior? We are learning more and more that we simply cannot trust the financial sector, which it appears to too many of its employees is seen as a conduit to great personal wealth.
