Italian Stocks - Factors to watch on April 29

    MILAN, April 29 (Reuters) - The following factors could 
affect Italian markets on Wednesday. 
    Reuters has not verified the newspaper reports, and cannot 
vouch for their accuracy. New items are marked with (*). 
     
    FIAT  
    Chrysler LLC's [CBS.UL] biggest lenders and the U.S. 
government reached a framework deal to cut the automakers' debt 
by $6.9 billion, but bankruptcy still loomed as a strong 
possibility to complete restructuring. [nN28328909] 
     
    Fiat's chief executive told the Canadian Auto Workers that 
Chrysler was likely to seek temporary bankruptcy protection in 
the United States. [nL28354651] 
     
    The Obama administration does not rule out bankruptcy for 
Chrysler despite the U.S. Treasury's tentative deal with banks, 
White House spokesman Robert Gibbs said. [nWAT011368] 
     
    Fiat declined comment after German Economy Minister 
Karl-Theodor zu Guttenberg said it had presented a rough plan to 
invest in General Motors Corp's  Opel unit. [nLS805360] 
     
    FINMECCANICA  
    Its AgustaWestland unit defended the performance of the 
helicopter it wants to supply U.S. President Barack Obama and 
urged compromise over U.S. plans to scrap a fleet renewal plan.

    Finmeccanica turned in first-quarter net profit down 14 
percent but confirmed its 2009 targets. [nLS840253] 
     
    LOTTOMATICA  
    The Italian gaming company would only be interested in 
acquiring stakes in British lottery operator Camelot at "a very 
attractive price", Chairman Lorenzo Pellicioli said Tuesday as 
first-quarter results beat expectations. [nLS819897] 
     
    INTESA SANPAOLO  
    The bank's shareholder foundations are in full agreement 
about supporting management, Cariplo foundation Chairman 
Giuseppe Guzzetti told Il Sole 24 Ore. Since Friday Intesa 
Sanpaolo has seen the first shifts among shareholders since the 
2006 merger that created the bank. 
     
  * The consultation accord between Assicurazioni Generali 
 and France's Credit Agricole  could be 
altered before being filed with the bourse regulator in order to 
deal with antitrust concerns, MF said. 
     
    UNICREDIT  
  * The bank holds its annual shareholders' meeting. Il 
Giornale, citing rumours, said the number of vice chairman 
positions would fall to four from five and Libya's central bank 
governor Farhat Omar Bin Guidara would hold one. 
     
    The bank appointed Marina Natale as chief financial officer, 
replacing Ranieri de Marchis who moves to head of audit. Natale 
is currently responsible for Private Banking. 
     
    BANCA MONTE DEI PASCHI DI SIENA  
    The bank made a 4.4 billion euro mortgage-backed

  * TELECOM ITALIA  
    Italy has asked for "respect for law" as regards Telecom 
Argentina , Il Sole 24 Ore said. 
     
    SEAT PAGINE GIALLE  
    UBS raised its rating on the directories publisher to 
"neutral" from "sell". 
     
    AUTOGRILL  
    UBS raised its price target on the catering company to six 
euros from 4.4 euros, rated "neutral". 
     
    SMALL AND MID-CAPS 
    CATTOLICA ASSICURAZIONE  
    The Bank of Italy is investigating the strategic partnership 
between the insurer and unlisted Banca Popolare di Vicenza, Il 
Sole 24 Ore said. The central bank is probing whether the 
alliance is in line with Pop Vicenza's governance rules. 
     
    FASTWEB  
    The broadband operator swung to a slight first-quarter 
profit boosted by growth in customers and lower capital

  * CAMFIN  
    Chairman Marco Tronchetti Provera told shareholders that 
information about his holding company's debt restructuring would 
arrive next week, several newspapers said. Camfin has exercised 
its put option to sell GDF Suez SA  40 percent of 
Energia e Investimenti, he said. Camfin holds a majority stake 
in Pirelli & C SpA , an industrial group. 
     
    IRIDE , ENIA  
    Shareholders in Enia, the north Italy utility, have approved 
a merger plan with Iride, a company spokesman said. The deal is 
still subject to approval by Iride shareholders, who include the

  * GEMINA  
    A merger with Aeroporti di Roma is not on the table because 
of obstacles of debt and airport concessions, Gemina Chairman 
Guido Angiolini was quoted saying by Finanza Mercati at the 
shareholders' assembly. 
     
    BIALETTI INDUSTRIE  
    The company reached agreement with most creditors to keep 
credit lines open for another year as it puts together a new 
business plan by June 30, 2009. [nLS842381] 
     
    D'AMICO INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING  
    JP Morgan cuts its price target to 0.93 euro from 1.52 
euros, rates "neutral". 
     
    SAFILO  
    Moody's lowered its corporate family rating to B3.
