Indian shares fall nearly 2 pct on global slide

MUMBAI, July 8 (Reuters) - Indian shares fell nearly 2 percent in early trade on Wednesday, tracking the weakness in global stocks on concerns over economic recovery.

Engineering and construction firm Larsen and Toubro (LART.BO) and private lender ICICI Bank (ICBK.BO) contributed the most to the losses.

At 10 a.m. (0430 GMT), the 30-share BSE index .BSESN was down 1.85 percent at 13,910.61 points after falling as low as 13,888.98.

The 50-share NSE Index was down 1.98 percent at 4,118.75. (Reporting by Ami Shah)
