Indian shares rise 1 pct as budget speech begins
MUMBAI, July 6 (Reuters) - Indian shares extended gains to more than 1 percent on Monday after the Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee announced increased infrastructure spending.
Engineering and construction firm Larsen & Toubro (LART.BO) was up 3.1 percent at 1,657 rupees.
By 11:19 a.m. (0549 GMT), the 30-share BSE Index .BSESN was up 1.22 percent at 15,094.80 points with 23 components gaining.
The 50-share NSE Index was up 1.23 percent at 4,478.45 points.
