Indian shares rise 0.8 pct in early deals

MUMBAI, July 15 (Reuters) - Indian shares rose 0.8 percent early on Wednesday, as upbeat results from U.S. firms Goldman Sachs (GS.N) and Intel (INTC.O) lifted hopes for a recovery in the global economy and boosted sentiment across Asia.

At 9:57 a.m. (0427 GMT), the 30-share BSE index .BSESN was up 0.8 percent at 13,963.88 points, with 26 stocks gaining.

The 50-share NSE index was up 0.9 percent at 4,149.25. (Reporting by Pratish Narayanan)
