UPDATE 1-LSI Industries swings to loss; gives FY outlook

Aug 21 (Reuters) - Lighting products maker LSI Industries Inc (LYTS.O) posted a quarterly loss, hurt by a goodwill charge in its graphic segment.

For the fourth quarter ending June 30, the company posted a loss of $24.8 million, or $1.14 a share, compared with a profit of $7 million or 32 cents a share, a year earlier.

Excluding charges, the company posted a loss of 5 cents a share.

Revenue fell 29 percent to $66.4 million.

Analysts on average were expecting a loss of 6 cents a share, excluding items, on revenue of $66.5 million, according to Reuters Estimates.

The company said its profits were also hurt by its single largest retail customer putting its new store construction program on hold.

LSI also forecast earnings between 29 cents and 36 cents a share on sales of $290 million to $310 million for 2009.

Analysts expected earnings of 29 cents a share on revenue of $286.2 million for the period.
