May 28 (Reuters) - Operator of auto-repair chains Monro Muffler Brake Inc (MNRO.O) posted higher quarterly results, helped by strong sales across all its products and services, and raised its dividend by a cent.
"Store traffic trends improved as we benefited from consumers keeping their older cars longer, given the difficult economic environment and from reduced competition as a result of dealership closures," Chief Executive Robert Gross said in a statement.
The company, which raised its quarterly dividend to 7 cents a share, said it agreed to buy 26 Autotire Car Care Center locations from Am-Pac Tire Distributors Inc for about $10 million.
For the fourth quarter ended March 28, the company earned $3.0 million, or 15 cents per share, compared with $1.9 million, or 10 cents a share, a year ago.
Revenue rose 9 percent to $117.1 million.
Monro Muffler forecast first-quarter earnings of 42 cents to 47 cents a share.
The company expects 2010 revenue of $515 million to $530 million, including Autotire but not any other acquisitions.
Shares of the Rochester, New York-based company closed at $26.93 Wednesday on Nasdaq. (Reporting by Eric Yep in Bangalore; Editing by Anne Pallivathuckal)
