UPDATE 1-CompuCredit posts wider Q2 loss

Aug 5 (Reuters) - CompuCredit Corp (CCRT.O) posted a wider second-quarter loss as the marketer of branded credit cards and related financial services was hurt by a 74 percent fall in its total interest income.
The company posted a net loss of $44.9 million, or 96 cents a share, compared with a loss of $11.0 million, or 23 cents a share, a year earlier.
On a managed basis, excluding certain items, the company lost $2.16 a share.
Analysts on average expected the company to report a loss of $1.47 a share, excluding items, according to Reuters Estimates.
Second-quarter net interest income fell to $26.3 million.
