UPDATE 1-Canadian Solar gets solar modules contracts, shares up
* Gets 120MW contract from 24 clients
* Customers from Europe, North America and Asia
* Shares rise as much as 6 pct in pre-market trade
June 29 (Reuters) - Canadian Solar Inc (CSIQ.O) said it received purchase orders for about 120 mega-watt (MW) of solar module products from 24 customers in Europe, North America and Asia, including a 30MW deal with German solar energy specialist systaic AG (SJKG.DE).
Most of the solar module products deliveries are expected to take place from June to October, the company said.
Canadian Solar said the agreement with the German company is a specific purchase order for delivery in Spain, and under a 60MW annual supply agreement between the two companies.
The company added systaic recently completed a transaction to sell a solar farms, built with Canadian Solar's modules, to an off-take fund.
Shares of the company closed at $12.41 Friday on the New York Stock Exchange.They rose as much as $13.14 Mondayin trading before the bell. (Reporting by Antonita Madonna Devotta in Bangalore, Editing by Dinesh Nair)
