UPDATE 1-PacSun chief executive to step down, names new CEO

* Says new CEO to take over on June 29

* Names new non-exec chairman

June 17 (Reuters) - Teen-clothing retailer Pacific Sunwear of California Inc (PSUN.O) said its Chief Executive and Chairman Sally Frame Kasaks will step down effective June 29 but will stay on its board.

The company said it appointed Gary Schoenfeld as its new chief executive officer and Lead Director Peter Starrett as non-executive chairman.

Schoenfeld was formerly co-chief executive of Global Brands Group, a brand management and licensing company.

Shares of the Anaheim, California-based company had closed at $3.20 Wednesday on Nasdaq. (Reporting by Nivedita Bhattacharjee in Bangalore; Editing by Gopakumar Warrier)
