June 3 (Reuters) - Japanese truck maker Isuzu Motors Ltd (7202.T) will maintain tie-ups with General Motors Corp GMGMQ.PK, despite GM's bankruptcy filing, the Nikkei business daily reported.

Early this week, GM filed for bankruptcy protection in New York in the third-largest Chapter 11 case in U.S. history.

The two automakers reiterated their commitment to tie-ups, including diesel engine joint ventures, in a conference call attended by top executives, the paper said.

According to the paper, the two companies own and operate diesel engine joint ventures in the United States and Poland, in which GM has a 60 percent stake and Isuzu the remaining 40 percent.

The companies will also continue to mutually supply pickup trucks and other vehicles in overseas markets, the paper said. (Reporting by Eric Yep in Bangalore; Editing by Deepak Kannan)
