Shares of Imagination Technologies Group Plc (IMG.L) rise 6 percent as the company signs a multi-use license agreement with Taiwan's MediaTek Inc (2454.TW), which designs microchips for mobile phones and DVD players.

Seymour Pierce analyst Ian Robertson says: "This is excellent news for Imagination as it places it firmly into the prospective volume smart phone markets, significantly derisking the story."

The supplier of software to the global logistics sector says pretax profit fell to 1.4 million pounds ($2.3 million) for the year ended March 31, compared with 2 million pounds a year ago, while revenue rose 5 percent to 53.3 million pounds, helped by foreign exchange gains.

Underlying profit grew to 7.5 million pounds, compared with 7.0 million pounds a year ago, and the company expects growth in the current fiscal year.  Continued...
