UPDATE 1-Watts Water posts Q1 net loss

April 28 (Reuters) - Plumbing products supplier Watts Water Technologies Inc (WTS.N) posted a quarterly net loss, compared with a year-ago profit, as it was hurt by restructuring charges.

For the first quarter, the company posted a loss of $1.0 million, or 3 cents a share, compared with net income of $13.7 million, or 37 cents a share, a year ago.

Sales fell 14 percent at $294.9 million.

During the latest first quarter, Watts Water took a charge of $9.3 million, or 25 cents a share, which includes $9.1 million of restructuring charges, the company said in a statement.

Shares of the company closed at $22.77 Tuesday on the New York Stock Exchange.
