OTKRITIE
The Russian brokerage named Howard Snell, formerly UK chief executive of Russian investment bank Troika Dialog, as a London-based director. Otkritie also named Nicholas Richmond, previously vice president and head of Russian trading at JPMorgan, as director and head of equity trading, based in Moscow.
WINSTON & STRAWN
The law firm said an eight-member private equity team had joined its New York office from Nixon Peabody, including Dominick DeChiara, who will co-chair the private equity group at Winston.
GOLDMAN SACHS GROUP INC (GS.N)
The bank named Dean Backer, previously co-head of U.S. equities sales, as global head of prime brokerage sales and capital introduction. Backer, already part of the leadership of Goldman's Hedge Fund Industry Group, will report to David Heller and Harvey Schwartz.
JP MORGAN ASSET MANAGEMENT
The company appointed three senior portfolio managers -- Didier Lambert, Alain Defise and Michal Wozniak -- to expand its Emerging Markets Debt team.
ORIEL SECURITIES
The corporate and institutional stockbroking and advisory firm appointed Mark Hodds as head of execution. Mark joined from Dresdner Kleinwort Securities Ltd.
NEMESIS ASSET MANAGEMENT
Nemesis Asset Management appointed Robert Sargent as the head of asset management in the UK. Most recently, Sargent was the head of asset management at Gulf International Bank.
NEWSCAPE CAPITAL GROUP
Newscape Capital Group appointed Leonardo Da Costa as a portfolio manager in the core investment team in London. Costa was previously a fixed-income investment specialist with Aberdeen Asset Management. Continued...
