FBR CAPITAL MARKETS CORP (FBCM.O)

The middle market investment bank has promoted Burke Hayes -- with the firm since 1998 -- to managing director in real estate investment banking and Jason Wolfe -- who joined in 2001 -- to managing director in insurance investment banking.

BMO CAPITAL MARKETS (BMO.TO)

The investment and corporate banking arm of BMO Financial Financial Group has hired four public infrastructure bankers, including Jeff Holt and Neil Pritz, who join as managing directors, and Eric Zampol and Christopher Cochran as vice presidents. Holt previously worked at companies including Goldman Sachs Group Inc (GS.N) and Morgan Stanley (MS.N), while Pritz was previously a managing director with Banc of America Securities in Chicago. Zampol had worked in Goldman Sachs' San Francisco office, while Cochran had been a vice president with RBC Capital Markets in the Chicago Public Finance office.

BANK OF AMERICA (BAC.N)

Merrill Lynch & Co said Steven Niemczyk, who has been global head of asset management investment banking at UBS Limited (UBSN.VX) in London, will join Merrill's global Corporate & Investment Banking business as global head of asset management investment banking in June 2009. Niemczyk will relocate to New York and report to Michael Rubinoff, head of global financial institutions corporate and investment banking.

DUNCAN WILLIAMS INC

The Memphis, Tennessee-based brokerage hired Greg Smith, most recently a senior director at Merrill Lynch & Co (BAC.N) following computer services and IT consulting companies, as a managing director in its equity capital markets group. At Duncan Williams, Smith will cover payment and financial processing companies.

MARSH (MMC.N)

The insurance broker and risk adviser has named Julie Boucher as leader of its U.S. captive solutions practice. Boucher, a 21-year Marsh veteran, will be responsible for the growth and development of captive insurance companies with operations in several U.S. states.

ROTHSTEIN KASS

Public accounting firm Rothstein Kass has hired Jeffrey Kollin, a former head of business development at hedge fund firm R3 Capital, to oversee growth in its Financial Services Advisory practice. Kollin, who earned degrees from Lehigh and New York University, previously worked at Lehman Brothers where he was the U.S. head of hedge fund consulting. At Rothstein Kass, Kollin will work with the firm's audit, tax and advisory groups to introduce new products and services.

BROADPOINT SECURITIES GROUP INC (BPSG.O)

The private investment bank named Brian Zucker as managing director in its debt capital markets division. He was most recently with Deutsche Bank Securities Inc.
