Adidas - football world cup to boost S.Africa sales
HERZOGENAURACH, Germany, June 10 (Reuters) - The world's second-largest sports goods maker Adidas (ADSG.DE) expects sales in South Africa to grow at a double-digit rate in the years to come thanks to the football world cup in the country next year.
"We are well positioned to further extend our market leadership in football again next year," Adidas Chief Executive Herbert Hainer said in a statement on Wednesday.
Adidas equips national fotball teams of for example Germany, Argentina and Spain as well as clubs like AC Milan, Chelsea FC and Bayern Munich.
