Elisa says confident 2009 roughly at 2008 level

HELSINKI, May 28 (Reuters) - Finnish telecoms operator Elisa (ELI1V.HE) said on Thursday the economic slowdown has had little impact on its operations and was confident that its performance in the rest of 2009 would be roughly on par with 2008.

"We are confident that our this year will continue to progress pretty much like last year," Elisa Chief Executive Veli -Matti Mattila said in a speech at an industry forum.

In April, the firm repeated its full-year outlook, saying it saw sales and profits to be at best flat year-on-year.
