 KUALA LUMPUR, May 25 (Reuters) - Following is a list of
events in Malaysia as well as news stories and press reports

 * Palm oil producer Sime Darby (SIME.KL), the largest company
on the bourse by market value, to release third-quarter
earnings after 5p.m.(0900)
 * Cargo surveyors Intertek Testing Services and Societe
Generale de Surveillance unveil May 1-25 Malaysian palm oil
export data. (0100g and 0630g)
 MARKET SNAPSHOTS
 * Malaysian shares are expected to open higher on Monday on
follow-through buying after last week's 3.1 percent
rise.[.KLSE]
 * "I think the market should go up, the key index may test the
1,050 points level, if the index breaks that level, the next
resistance will be 1,085 points," said an institutional dealer
from a leading Malaysian brokerage.
 * "Malaysia has been lagging behind regional markets, foreign
funds will eventually come in as they have been a net seller of
our market for the past few months. Actually some of them have
already started nibbling," said the dealer.
 * Banking, plantation and construction stocks may lead the
uptrend, she said, adding that lender AMMB (AMMB.KL), builder
Gamuda (GAMU.KL) and oil palm grower Sime Darby (SIME.KL) are
stocks that still offer upside potential.
 * U.S. stocks fell for a fourth day on Friday on persistent
worries about the U.S. budget deficit, with U.S. Treasuries and
the dollar losing ground.[.N]
 * Oil prices rose on Friday as data showing a big increase in
Chinese demand, along with a weak dollar, offset persistent
worries about the fiscal outlook for top energy consumer the

 * Malaysian palm futures rose nearly 1 percent on Friday,
rebounding from a three-week low a day earlier, but fears over
supplies in the world's number-two producer and a strong

                 ASIA MARKETS NEWS - Asian stocks are set to
open lower on Monday as fears of credit rating downgrades
weighed on markets.Trading is expected to be thin head of
market holidays on Monday in the U.S. and UK.[STXNEWS/AS] -
Emerging equities firmed half a percent on Friday as dollar
weakness and commodity strength helped the sector claw back
some of the previous session's losses.[EMRG/FRX] - Southeast
Asian stock markets mostly recovered from early falls on
Friday, with energy-related  shares among the advancers,
including Singapore's Golden Agri, Malaysia's Tenaga, Thai
PTTEP and Indonesia's Adaro Energy.[.SO]
