 - International Trade and Industry Minister Mustapa Mohamed
to launch Europe Meets Asia: EU-Asia Invest Project Business
Matching at 9.00am (0100).
 - RHB Capital (RHBC.KL) media conference after its
shareholders meeting at 10.30am (0230).
 - Malaysia releases April manufacturing sales data at
12.00pm (0400).
 - Tanjung Offshore (TJGO.KL) unit signs Islamic finance
lease deal with Standard Chartered Bank at 2.00pm (0600).
  MARKET SNAPSHOTS
 * Malaysian shares closed down 0.3 percent at 1,070.90 points
on Wednesday in line with mostly lower regional markets as
investors turned cautious about the pace of the region's
economic recovery. [.KLSE]
 * Malaysia's benchmark stock index .KLSE will be well
supported at the 1,062-1,068 points level ahead of the
government's announcement of more liberalisation measures later
this month, said a bank-backed brokerage.
 * Prime Minister Najib Razak is expected to announce moves to
boost foreign investments at the annual Invest Malaysia
conference on June 30.
 * Technology shares buoyed the Nasdaq on Wednesday after
positive broker comments on Qualcomm, but financial shares'
losses held back the Dow and the S&P 500. [.N]
 * Oil rose on Wednesday, supported by government data showing
a drop in U.S. crude supplies, gains in the stock market and a
weaker dollar. [O/R]

 ASIA MARKETS NEWS - Asian stocks are set for a shaky start on
Thursday, with financial stocks likely to be under pressure
after losses in the U.S. and Europe. [STXNEWS/AS] - The
Indonesian rupiah faltered on Wednesday as investors took
profits from a recent rally in local stocks and bonds, but the
Singapore dollar bucked the general Asian weakness supported on
stronger-than-expected exports data. [EMRG/FRX] - Southeast
Asian stock markets fell on Wednesday as investors took profits
from a recent rally in financial and telecom shares, with
Singapore's DBS, Malaysia's Axiata and Indonesia's Bank Central
Asia among losers. [.SO]
