German steel and metals trader Kloeckner & Co (KCOGn.DE) (KCOGn.DE) rises 3 percent after the company says it will sell its KVT unit for 325 million euros ($515 million) to private equity company Capvis.
"Together with the proceeds from the sale of Namasco Ltd., the company increases significantly its headroom for future acquisitions, says Rochus Brauneiser, analyst at Landesbanki.
Kloeckner, listed in Germany's mid-cap index.MDAXI, said it will have a book profit after taxes of about 265 million euros and that the proceeds from the sale can be used to finance expansion.

Shares in German machine tools group Gildemeister AG (GILG.DE) rise 14.7 percent to 19.20 euros and lead gainers in Germany's mid-cap index .MDAXI after German magazine Focus reports a Russian investor bought a 15-percent stake in the company.
"A further build up of a significant stake or even a complete takeover approach cannot be ruled out especially as Gildemeister's strong global market position, its technological strength as well as its current appealing valuation are a sound combination for such a step," Holger Schmidt, analyst at Equinet writes in a note to clients. Equinet has a buy rating on the stock.

Shares in Postbank (DPBGn.DE) fall 2.8 percent, the top losers in Frankfurt's DAX index .GDAXI, after the chief financial officer of the German retail bank's main owner, mail and logistics group Deutsche Post (DPWGn.DE), is quoted as saying Post is in no rush to sell its stake, traders say.
