STOCKS NEWS EUROPE-UK small caps close down 0.4 percent

The FTSE Small Cap index .FTSC closes down 0.4 percent, performing better than both the blue chips .FTSE and the midcaps .FTMC, which shed 2.5 percent and 1.8 percent respectively.

Photo-Me (PHTM.L) rises 10.6 percent after the photo booth maker reports a 17 percent rise in full-year underlying earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA), and says it hopes to be "very close to" cash positive next year.

Hydrogen Group (HYDG.L) falls 12.8 percent after the specialist professional recruitment business issues a trading update which prompts Seymour Pierce to repeat its "sell" rating on the stock. [ID:nL2227824]
