Lipper Snaps UK-Aberdeen high yield tops bond funds in June
LONDON, July 3 (Reuters) - Aberdeen Asset Management's
(ADN.L) Global-Euro High Yield Bond fund was the top performer among
British-registered bond funds in June, data from Thomson Reuters fund research
firm Lipper showed on Friday.
The fund returned 10.37 percent last month and also topped the table in May. Over three months it is up 54.02 percent, benefiting from the strong rally in distressed securities in spring.
The lower quality Triple C-rated credits and below have outperformed their better rated counterparts year to date, confounding analysts who expect a wave of defaults over the coming months.
The Scottish Widows [LLOYSW.UL] Overseas Fixed Int Tracker fund finished at the bottom of the table, with a 2.42 percent loss for the month.
