Kenya Airways posts FY loss on crisis, oil price
NAIROBI, June 5 (Reuters) - Kenya Airways (KQ) (KQNA.NR) reported on Friday a loss of 5.66 billion shillings ($71.79 million) for its full year ended in March due to fuel hedge costs, compared with a re-stated pre-tax profit of 6.52 billion a year earlier.
The airline's Finance Director blamed the performance on the collapse of oil prices.
"In September 2008, all hell broke loose, it (the oil price) fell like the Titanic," Alex Mbugua told an investment briefing. ($1=78.00 Kenyan Shilling) (Reporting by Duncan Miriri; Editing by Hans Peters)
