Egypt's Eastern Tobacco 9-month net rises 11.7 pct

CAIRO, May 4 (Reuters) - Egyptian cigarette monopoly Eastern Tobacco (EAST.CA) made a net profit of 621.4 million Egyptian pounds ($110 million) in the first nine months of the fiscal year, up 11.7 percent from the same period a year earlier, the firm said on Monday.
The firm gave no further details on its performance in a statement to the Egyptian stock exchange. Shares in the firm ended the day 0.21 percent lower at 153.55 pounds. ($1 = 5.63 Egyptian pounds. (Writing by Cynthia Johnston)
