STOCKS NEWS EUROPE-Europe shares weak as payrolls weighs

European shares stay weaker as Wall Street falls in early trade after data shows the U.S. unemployment rate rises to 10.2 percent, the highest in 26-1/2 years, with oil stocks the biggest drag on the index.

The pan-European FTSEurofirst 300 .FTEU3 index of top shares is down 0.6 percent at 984.49 points. Major U.S. indexes the Dow Jones industrial average .DJI, the S&P 500 .SPX and the Nasdaq Composite .IXIC slip 0.6 to 0.7 percent.

Energy stocks take the most points off the index as crude CLc1 falls 2 percent. BG Group (BG.L), BP (BP.L), Royal Dutch Shell (RDSa.L) and Total (TOTF.PA) are 1.3 to 1.9 percent lower.
