MADRID, Oct. 8 (Reuters) - The following Spanish stocks may be affected by newspaper reports and other factors on Thursday. Reuters has not verified the newspaper reports, and cannot vouch for their accuracy:

TELEFONICA (TEF.MC)

The Spanish telecom offered on Wednesday to buy Brazil-based GVT (GVTT3.SA) for 6.5 billion reais ($3.7 billion) in cash, in an attempt to have at least 51 percent control of the Brazilian telecommunications company, said investor relations director Gilmar Camurra.
