ETF Securities platinum ETC holdings rise 6.9 pct
LONDON, June 8 (Reuters) - The amount of metal ETF Securities holds to back its platinum-backed exchange-traded commodity rose nearly 20,000 ounces or 6.9 percent in the week to June 5, the company said in a daily report on Monday.
Its ETFS Physical Platinum product (PHPT.L) now holds 308,827 ounces of metal, the company said. ETFS Physical Palladium (PHPD.L) also saw an inflow of just over 13,500 ounces last week, it added, or 4.7 percent.
The three gold-backed products it operates -- Gold Bullion Securities (GBSx.L), ETFS Physical Gold (PHAU.L) and a small Australian fund -- collectively saw inflows of 99,000 ounces or 1.3 percent that week, ETF Securities said.
Its total London silver holdings declined week-on-week, however, to 19.894 million ounces from 19.990 million. In the course of last week they temporarily touched a record high of 20.064 million ounces.
The company issues securities backed by physical stocks of commodities such as precious metals, giving investors exposure to movements in the asset price without having to buy and store the commodity themselves.
