UPDATE 1-Arseus Q3 sales up 8 pct, repeats 2009 outlook
* Q3 turnover 87.3 mln euros vs 86 mln euros expected
* Repeats forecast of 5 to 10 pct turnover growth
BRUSSELS, Oct 13 (Reuters ) - Belgian medical equipment and services company Arseus NV (RCUS.BR) reported a slightly higher than expected growth of turnover on Tuesday and repeated its forecast of 5 to 10 percent expansion this year.
Turnover for the July-September period rose percent to 87.3 million euros ($128.5 million) from 80.6 million euros a year earlier, an overall growth rate of 8.3 percent and a like-for-like increase of 4.0 percent.
The average forecast in a Reuters poll of five analysts was 86 million euros.
The company, whose products include dentists' chairs, surgical instruments and pharmaceutical ingredients, repeated that turnover would rise by 5 to 10 percent this year. The growth would be between 3 and 6 percent on a like-for-like basis.
Arseus has also said that recurring EBITDA (earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation) would grow faster than turnover because of contributions from UK greenfield sites, production optimisation and a 5 million euro cost-cutting plan.
All four of Arseus's divisions registered growth in the third quarter. Three were in line with expectations, but sales of Fagron, which supplies pharmaceutical ingredients, rose 9.6 percent, against flat expectations.
Arseus, which also offers IT services for the medical industry, had been a subsidiary of health products distributor Omega Pharma (OMEP.BR) and listed on the Euronext Brussels and Amsterdam in October 2007. ($1=.6795 Euro) (Reporting by Philip Blenkinsop; Editing by Hans Peters)
