LAGOS, June 15 (Reuters) - Nigeria's Benue Cement Company (BCEM.LG), owned by local private conglomerate Dangote Group, posted a 25-fold increase in first-quarter net profit compared with a year ago, the company said on Monday.

The company's net profit rose to 5.35 billion naira ($36.45 million) from 198.69 million naira, the cement maker said in its latest financial statement released on the floor of the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE).

Its gross earnings rose to 9.32 billion naira from 1.04 billion naira a year ago.
