THE IRISH TIMES
- The government is "quietly confident" it will get the legal guarantees it is seeking on the Lisbon Treaty and possibly announce the date of a second referendum later this week.
- The Irish Stock Exchange (ISE) made a pretax loss of 15.5 million euros ($21.43 million) in 2008 after losses on investments doubled to 22 million euros during the year, according to the bourse's latest annual results.
- Five of the guaranteed financial institutions have submitted the names of their top 100 developer borrowers and the size of their loans to officials setting up the State's "bad bank", Nama, by a deadline set for yesterday evening.
IRISH INDEPENDENT
- Taoiseach Brian Cowen is set to cut lucrative ministerial pensions paid to sitting TDs by up to 25pc after they defied the Government's request for suggested savings.
- iPhone maker Apple (AAPL.O) is searching for locations for
up to four stores in Dublin and has targeted properties close to
Grafton Street for a flagship shop.
IRISH EXAMINER
- Aer Lingus (AERL.I) will offer off-peak transatlantic
rates from as little as 80 million euros or $110 one-way as part
of its efforts to encourage more people to travel between the US
and Ireland.
