UPDATE 1-Adecco to cut 350 jobs in France

ZURICH, June 17 (Reuters) - The world's largest staffing company Adecco (ADEN.VX) is cutting about 350 jobs in France as it tries to find a way through the recession, it said on Wednesday.

Staffing groups across the world, such as Dutch group Randstad (RAND.AS) and America's Manpower (MAN.N), are facing tough markets as companies cut back on hiring.

Adecco's French subsidiary Adia has informed its work council of its plans to cut the jobs, which amount to about 1 percent of the group's total full-time workforce of 31,000, by the end of 2009, it said in a statement.

About 100 Adia branches will be merged and costs of the reorganisation will be about 25 million euros ($34.7 million), Adecco said. (Reporting by Sam Cage; editing by Elaine Hardcastle)
